We have handled the defense of environmental civil penalty and criminal cases. Our attorneys also provide regulatory counseling - negotiating environmental contract provisions and conducting due diligence audits in connection with mergers, acquisitions and project financings.

More specifically, our office has been involved in purchase of several companies, whose production facilities were highly threatening to the safety of the environment. While preparing due diligence reports on the mentioned companies (factories), we have examined compliance of their operation and the existing documents with valid regulations regarding environment protection, such as Law on Protection of the Environment and Law on Environment Impact Assessment. Furthermore, we have been involved in obtaining consents and permits from the Ministry of Environment, related to import and trade of hazardous substances. We have also participated in negotiations with the Ministry of Environment, related to the issuance of licenses and reissuance of cancelled licenses for some of our clients.
